Throughout the years the world of sports has been treated to successful sports stars who have come from the same family. As a father who has been successful there must be nothing better than having your child go on to match, emulate or indeed, surpass the success which you have had and today we are going to look at some of the families who have managed to dominate sport over the years. Some may consider being the child of a sports star to be a pressure which they cannot cope with but in the list below you will see sports stars children who have gone on to become a chip off the old block.

Elways

John Elway’s name has become synonymous with success thanks to his glittering career for the Denver Broncos where he won Super Bowls as both player and coach, was awarded the Super Bowl MVP trophy and is widely regarded as one of the best quarter backs to ever play the game. The Elway name began in football with John’s father Jack Elway who was once an exciting college prospect who suffered a career ending injury. Unperturbed by the injury, Jack went on to become one of the best coaches in college football before finishing his career as a scout for the Denver Broncos and watching his son achieve the success which he was unable to.

Noahs

French tennis player Yannick Noah was a force to be reckoned with throughout the late 70s and early 80s, he racked up 4 Grand Slams as well as over 100 competition wins on the tour including become the first Frenchman to win the French open in over 50 years. Son Joachim decided that tennis wasn’t for him and he instead turned his hand to basketball. After being picked up by the Chicago Bulls in the draft, Noah Jnr has since gone on to become one of the best defensive players in the NBA and a regular All Star.

Hills

English racing driver Graham Hill won two World Championship in Formula One with BRM and Lotus and he was the only racing driver to have won the Indy 500, the Le Mans 24 hour and the World Title in F1 in a calendar year. Hill was sadly killed in an aircraft accident in 1975. Hill’s son Damon would go on to emulate his fathers success and win 2 Formula One World Championships in his career, the only son of a World Champion to match his father’s success.

Mannings

The Mannings are considered like royalty in NFL circles and after father Archie carved out a successful career as a college football and later an NFL star, his sons would go on to change the footballing landscape forever. Peyton and Eli Manning are both considered as the greatest quarterbacks of all time, they have 4 Super Bowl rings between them and have smashed a number of league and franchise records throughout their careers.
